Mornington Services FAQs

Q: What’s the difference between handmade and promade fans?

A: Promades:
How are they made? Typically machine made and pre packaged for ‘ready to go’ application

Is there a visual difference? 100%, but it’s hard to notice if you don’t know what you’re looking for. Promades generally have a more synthetic look to them.

Are there any downsides of promades? The main downside is that they can be slightly heavier than handmades - adding slightly more stress to the natural lashes. This will not cause damage if they are applied correctly

Handmades:

How are they made? They are packaged as individual fibers on a strip, the artist picks up a selection of fibers and rolls them out into a fan on the strip.

Why does it take so much longer? The service duration is slightly longer due to having to create every fan at the time of application, rather than picking up and putting down as you do with promades.

Are there any downsides to using handmades? The only downside really is that it takes longer to do on the client. Hand making your fans is a lot harder to master, if not done properly they can cause serious damage to your natural lashes. When they are in the hands of an experienced technician - they sit seamlessly, last longer, the size of the fan be tailored, they provide more versatility and give the wearer a softer, fluffier look.

Q. How do I cleanse my lashes?

A: Your lashes are to be washed daily to ensure maximum retention and maintain your lash health. Apply one pump of your lash cleanser (This is complimentary for new MB clients) to each eye, brush in gentle circles, rinse and pat dry. Failing to wash your extensions can lead to premature fall out as well as damage to your natural lashes

Q. How long can I go between refills?

A: It depends, most clients like to go around the 2 week mark, to maintain fullness in their set. Depending on your lashes, you can go up to one month before an refill is needed. It’s best to come in fortnightly to begin with so Naomi can get an idea of your lashes. If you can go longer periods, Naomi will let you know.
